Blueberry Scones Recipe
A traditional home baked blueberry scone is the perfect way to bring a touch of sweetness to your morning coffee or afternoon tea. Soft, buttery, and lightly golden on the outside, these scones are bursting with juicy blueberries in every bite.
The charm of homemade blueberry scones lies in their balance, tender and crumbly, yet rich and satisfying. Simple to make with just a handful of pantry ingredients, they’re a timeless treat that feels both comforting and elegant. Enjoy them warm from the oven with a spread of butter or clotted cream, and you’ll see why classic blueberry scones have become a bakery favorite around the world.
The method and ingredients are basically the same as for making English raisin scones
These blueberry scones are truely a luxury item and one of my favourite things to make, they never fail to impress. Cut in half with just some real butter and a cup of tea you will be in scone heaven.

Ingredients
The same as for raisin scones except substitute blueberries for the raisins. I should add that I always use fresh blueberries in scones but I guess it could be possible to use frozen ones. However I would be very cautious because if they release excess water the scones will be a diaster!.
Method
Basically very similar as for making raisin scones except for the following:
- Because the blueberries are quite fragile compared to raisins a little more care should be taken when mixing the dough to avoid breaking them
- Instead of cutting out rounds it's better to form the dough into a square then cut into either square or triangles with a sharp knife, trying not to seal the edges so they will rise better. This way this recipe will make either 8 triangles or 9 squares.
- Now you can tart them up by sprinkling icing sugar powder, or drizzle icing on them but I don't do suff like that.
I have to confess I prefer blueberry scone over raisin scones, am I being unpatriotic?.
